Virgin Atlantic has announced significant enhancements to its Flying Club rewards program, set to take effect from October 30. In a groundbreaking move, members will be able to use Virgin Points to purchase any seat on any Virgin Atlantic operated flight, regardless of date or class. This unprecedented flexibility allows loyal customers to choose their preferred seats based on point availability, with prices varying according to demand, similar to standard ticket pricing. Additionally, the airline is introducing new Saver reward seats at their lowest possible prices, making flying with points more accessible than ever before. These Saver seats will be available across thousands of flights, with some routes, such as flights to New York, starting from as low as 6,000 Virgin Points.
Enhanced Upgrades and Increased Point Earnings
Further enhancing the Flying Club experience, Virgin Atlantic is enabling members to use their points for upgrades to any available Premium or Upper Class seat, whether from standard or reward tickets. Companion and Upgrade vouchers will now be applicable to any seat, removing previous availability constraints. The airline is also increasing the number of Virgin Points earned on Upper Class and Premium tickets, with Upper Class earnings rising by up to 50% and Premium by up to 75%. These changes, along with the introduction of a new Flying Club reward voucher for credit card holders and Gold tier members, demonstrate Virgin Atlantic’s commitment to rewarding its loyal customers and maintaining its position as an innovator in the airline rewards space.
